Another Surgery for Leigh

Leigh had another surgery on Thursday this week. He had to go in for a hernia repair. It was a long day. We left the house at 8:30 a.m. and got home at 8:30 p.m. It took him quite a while to come out of the anesthesia.

It was funny, though, because while I went in to be with him in recovery at about 3:15 p.m. and talked with him he later didn't remember. I told him he needed to wake up and go to the bathroom before they would let him go home. He said okay and smiled. What made it funny was that later he said he started to wake up to see me around 5:30!

Leigh is still having some pain...he's moving slowly and trying not to cough or move suddenly. The doctor told him to stay away from work for a week, so he will be home this next week.

He has been spending his recovery time doing genealogy research for a friend. It has been a good diversion for him. He is getting back into genealogy again, which is nice. He has felt a little left out at church because I have been doing almost all of the teaching in our Family History class because we are the teaching about the new FamilySearch -- it is all computer and Internet information. We are hoping to later get back to teaching about family history research as well, and he will be participating more.

We are looking forward to a healthier, happy new year in 2009!
