So this weekend Leigh exhibited some signs of another mini-stroke (TIA) while we were at church. So I took him to the ER and they admitted him for further testing. We were in the ER for about five hours and it was freezing in there. By the time I went home around 10:30, my nose and upper arms were still cold! The doctors are being cautious and ordering tons of tests...CAT scan, MRI, echocardiogram, ultrasounds, x-rays, blood tests, etc. At first they were running through the tests pretty quickly, so I thought maybe they'd finish early and he could go home today (Monday). But now it looks like it will be tomorrow after all.
Last night Mark and Wendy Duff came by to see Leigh while Meredith, Preston, Amy, and I were also there. We regaled them with our "entertaining" stories and Leigh was quite animated and "up". Today, he isn't feeling so well...clammy and warm, so they are checking him out some more.
This morning Amy called me around 4:20 AM with news that her water had broke (she's due November 12). So I told her to go to the hospital and I would meet her there. It turned out she just had major "discharge" and they sent her home. So after only getting about four hours of sleep, I'm tired, but not quite ready for a nap. I had considered going in to work today, but as tired as I feel, and since Leigh's not doing as well as I'd hoped, I think I'll stay here at the hospital today. Maybe I can sneak in a catnap in a while.
