So clear last July the car (white van) started acting weirdly...it kept acting like it was going to die while driving it. So I parked it in the driveway and basically ignored it for six or eight weeks. Then I needed to go somewhere, so I reluctantly took it for a drive. Surprise! It acting just fine. So I only used it a little in the neighborhood until Colin started getting sick last Friday. I made a doctor's appointment for him and picked him up at school and drove to the doctor's office. On the way, it started again! The car just feels like it's going to die!
After the doctor's appointment we were driving home and then it did die! Luckily it started again, but the "check engine" light came on. I kept praying we would make it home, but every time I would have to stop for a light, the car would die.
So yesterday I drove it to the shop and it was fine until I pulled into the parking lot, where it died again. Ed drove it into the garage where it died again. They cleaned the battery cables and then drove around several times over the next couple of days and it only did it once. Needless to say, they still don't know what's going on with it.
The best news of all this is that even with it acting weirdly, the car passed emissions with flying colors!! YAY!! So now at least I can drive it and not worry about being legal, just about whether it will decide to die again!
....Just as a p.s. about Leigh....the test results didn't really show that he had had a TIA or anything. They really didn't find any positive results on his tests. So now he will make an appointment to see the neurologist just to follow up and make sure his medications are right, etc. So other than spending the last week trying to catch up on the sleep he missed out on while in the hospital (cause you know they don't let you get much rest there), he's really doing quite well.
