May

What a hectic, fun, wet and cold, hot and muggy, yet somewhat fulfilling week/month this has been...and it's not over yet.

For Mother's Day this year, we went to Preston and Amy's for dinner. We had a lasagna and garlic bread and salad and cake. YUM!!
(I know it's a birthday cake, but it was yummy!)

Amy and Chloe came by for a visit earlier this week and that was fun! Chloe had been to the doctor for her six month check-up. Can't believe it's been six months already!! She is such a cutie-pie, smiling all the time. Amy even distracted her while she was getting her shots so she didn't cry as much as usual. Happy baby! YAY!

The last week or so has been really hectic at work. End of school year stuff. Culmination video. Culmination. Rushing to get student awards ready. Equipment to get in place. But in the end, I think it all came off pretty well. The kids enjoyed the video that Joe put together. And now I get a week off before summer school starts!

Preston came by for a haircut and it was nice to visit with him for a while. Colin slipped in and got his haircut too. Good looking young men!!

Meredith got to go to her first concert -- Taylor Swift -- and she LOVED it! I was glad Melissa could go with her. She's been wanting to go to this concert since she first heard about it, so I was glad it worked out for her.

Colin graduated from Mesa High School the same night as the concert (Thursday). YAY! Unfortunately, we all sat in the rain in the outdoor stadium for the entire two hours!! UGH! I was so wet and cold afterwards...it turned what should have been a fun and exciting event into something we just endured. Graduating 725 students in the rain is not a fun evening. Seeing MY son graduate (even in the rain) was an exciting moment!

The rain in May in Arizona has been an unexpected event. We need the rain! It did cool things down -- we had an unseasonably hot May, too. So the weather has been interesting lately. This is Memorial Day Weekend. We have no special plans. Leigh's birthday is this next week, so we'll see what that holds in store.
